Reception to follow at The Harold Pratt House
Black tie

Once upon a time in New London, Connecticut, James’s freshman-year roommate invited Christine and some other friends over to watch a movie. There, Christine got her first look at James.

A year later, while away from college for something of a delayed gap year, James decided to study abroad in China. He headed back to Connecticut College to visit friends one more time before he left. To this day he’s not sure why, but he felt oddly interested in hanging out with Christine.

They ended up talking effortlessly for hours and hours. Time went by in an instant.

Ten years, three cities, and a whole lot of snail mail later, they traveled together to Oxford where Christine would spend the summer studying international human rights law. On a sunny July day in the Oxford Botanical Gardens, less than a mile from the movie theater where his parents first met, James asked Christine to marry him.

She said yes!

Now, twelve years after they became a pair, they’re finally getting married and can’t wait for you to celebrate with them on their big day!

How to get here

Parking is notoriously limited and expensive in NYC, so we suggest taking public transit. If you're joining us from out of town, fly in (LGA is closest) or take Amtrak. While in NYC, the subway is the bee’s knees. Our venues are best accessed from the 6 train, from the 77th street stop for All Souls, and the 68th St stop for The Harold Pratt House.

We'll have a shuttle bus to take everyone from the church to the reception venue.

Where to stay

In lieu of a large block at a single hotel, we're inviting our guests to select any hotel that fits their budget and travel plans. We have arranged a courtesy block at two Manhattan hotels:

The Franklin

Nestled in a restored 19th-century brownstone in the heart of the Upper East Side. A 10 min walk, 5 min cab, or 1-2 stops on the 6 train to the church and reception.

The Belleclaire

A historic hotel on the Upper West Side. A 10 min cab ride or 20 min bus ride to the church and reception.
